Digital transformation and the pandemic are changing how colleges and universities respond to the needs of their students. Whether through delivering enhanced education or preparing students for their future careers, higher education institutions are developing solutions to promote success for their students.

Auburn University’s Data Journey at EDUCAUSE

At this year’s EDUCAUSE conference, higher education institutions discussed the transitioning world of IT and education. In a session with Charles Hunt, Director, Enterprise Systems at Auburn University, he spoke on the importance of having the support of people within the university and having vendors that are easy to work with. Ultimately, Auburn’s data journey path led to the implementation of a data warehouse to better support data governance and the needs of their students

Students entering the job market lack the confidence needed to find a job. As a result, higher education institutions need to find ways to shift their curriculum to support their students. Workforce-ready certifications incorporated into broader degree programs are a key component of setting students up for success when entering the job market. While incorporating and updating degree programs and course catalogs is a long and tedious task, colleges and universities are turning to streamlined curriculum management systems to align courses with certifications and student interests with workforce needs.
